Miele

Founded in 1899, Miele is a German manufacturer of domestic appliances and commercial equipment. Located in Sama Tower, Dubai, the new Miele showroom is spread over two floors and showcases the latest Miele appliances, all under one roof. The gallery is equipped with state-of-the-art facilities and a fully functioning live kitchen area.

Miele was specifically looking for a modern, contemporary & seamless floor finish for the new 1,800 m² showroom, to incorporate it's distinct corporate design. Originally specifying a natural stone solution to be supplied in panels, the designer chose to instead use Mondéco Crystal, a seamless and highly decorative epoxy resin terrazzo floor finish, which offered the additional benefit of in-situ installation.

As well as being able to successfully match the exact colour of the original stone specification, Mondéco Crystal could also be used to create pre-cast stair treads and risers, offering a completely seamless aesthetic.

Containing 45% recycled materials, the Mondéco material also enabled the client to qualify for LEED® (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) credits from the Emirates Green Building Council. Mondéco's sustainability credentials include incorporating recycled content (both preconsumer and post-consumer), being a low emitting materials with low VOC content and recyclable packaging.

The 1,800m² of Mondéco Crystal, were produced locally, resulting in the project being completed within the tight program, and avoiding any delay to the showroom's opening.
