A 1km long retail complex built along the Jumeirah Beach Residences’ beachfront have chosen Flowcrete solutions to create brightly coloured zones in its car park to aid visitor navigation around the large structure. The developers of The Beach retail complex, Meraas Holding, decided to install a colour coded system on the floors and walls of its sizeable basement car park to help visitors locate their vehicles.

To achieve this, the architect specified 70,000m² of the car park coating system Deckshield ID and 85,000m² of its high performance wall coating system Deckshield Concrecoat, which were specially produced in a range of bespoke colours. This not only created a contemporary look, but also clearly designated the yellow, green, blue, purple and red zones.

Deckshield ID’s combination of aesthetics and durability meant that it was ideally suited to this challenge. The hard wearing nature of this system means that it can maintain its seamless finish and crisp colour despite the abusive conditions of a car park, which includes heavy vehicular traffic, water ingress and corrosive automotive oils.

Deckshield Concrecoat is a high performance wall coating solution that can be applied to external walls, columns, soffits and ceilings. A single component, water based, high-reflective, anti carbonation system, it can be applied onto a wide variety of substrates, making it a highly versatile option.
