Cool, White Finish for Miele’s Flagship Dubai Gallery

- Mondéco is a popular choice in retail environments owing to its durability, strength and excellent all-round wear resistance.
- Epoxy resin system harnessing a decorative blend of recycled crystal installed.
- Glass and mirror glass aggregates were also added to the system.
- Flowcrete's Mondéco system was able to exceed all of the brand's expectations.
Flowcrete in the Middle East has provided a sleek white terrazzo flooring system to line an exclusive gallery for a high-end German manufacturer of domestic appliances and other commercial kitchen equipment in Dubai.
Located in the Sama Tower on the Sheikh Zayed Road, Dubai, the new gallery is spread over two floors and includes an outside terrace.
The space has been designed to showcase more than 80 appliances on the lower floor with an overlooking mezzanine level to cater for a variety of events including product launches, training sessions and live cooking lessons.
The interior has been designed to embody the brand's luxury, elegance and quality using a full white setting. The gallery features a walk-through floor plan that guides visitors from cooking and refrigeration through to laundry and floor care appliances.
The gallery also includes a 'Green' lounge where visitors can relax with drinks and other refreshments as well as an open space dedicated to the company's 112 year history, where many of Miele's early inventions are displayed and it's heritage chronicled.
A crisp white epoxy resin system harnessing a decorative blend of recycled crystal, glass and mirror glass aggregates from Flowcrete in the Middle East has been installed throughout the 1,800 square metre store - across both levels.
In order to present a seamless finish between the showroom and mezzanine levels, pre-cast treads and risers were used on the connecting stairwell.
Containing 45% recycled aggregates, the material was able to comply with the client's environmental standards as well as assist the project to qualify for LEED® (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) credits from the Emirates Green Building Council.
Favourably qualifying for the following criteria: recycled content - both pre-consumer and post-consumer - low emitting materials (low VOC content), recyclable packaging and local production, Flowcrete's Mondéco system was able to exceed all of the brand's expectations.
Mondéco is a popular choice in retail environments owing to its durability, strength and excellent all-round wear resistance. The material can withstand heavy foot traffic and is also well-suited to environments subject to food spillage - ideal for Miele's in-store live cooking station.
Vik Vithlani, Sales Director for Flowcrete in the Middle East said, "The Miele gallery is a unique facility, with a breath-taking interior design scheme that creates a memorable experience for the gallery's visitors."
"The use of the Mondéco terrazzo system across both levels of the store serves as the perfect stage to showcase the brand's up-market appliances" adds Vithlani.
The Dubai showroom takes its place alongside Miele's other prestigious flagship showrooms located in Berlin, New York, London and Milan amongst many other of the world's most metropolitan cities.
