Rixos Bab Al Bahr

Rixos Bab Al Bahr has utilised a hygienic, durable floor coating for its five star beach resort situated on the tranquil Marjan Island.

Located on the pristine white sands of Ras Al Khaimah, Rixos Bab Al Bahr boasts its own stretch of beautiful beach, stylish rooms, upmarket restaurants, stunning views and comprehensive amenities.

In need of a floor finish befitting the hotel’s high standards, 1,400m2 of Flowcrete's ultra hygienic, chemical resistant and antimicrobial polyurethane floor coating Flowfresh MF was used for the resort’s kitchens, bakery areas, back of house spaces, garbage areas and staff canteen. The versatility of this flooring solution means that it can withstand the daily stresses of a wide variety of environments, from areas subject to high levels of foot traffic to commercial ovens, storage rooms and cold stores.

These sections provide service for all-inclusive, all day dining in the facility’s eight restaurants and bars and therefore required a floor finish that would facilitate an efficient, hygienic and safe working environment.

Coved skirting  was incorporated across the floor area, ramps and stairs in order to provide consistently seamless and easy to clean surfaces. Effective drainage was another key area of the floor design to ensure the rapid removal of unwanted contaminants from these sensitive working spaces.

To safeguard employee safety in what can be a fast paced and challenging environment, the floor finish on the ramps was enhanced with a slip resistant profile that would help to avoid dangerous falls on these sloping surfaces.
